Without exception, all these pictures have been inspired by real people in real places.

In a city like Budapest you can witness anything from the plain hilarious to the weird and macabre in a matter of minutes on the same street.

This book brings together my watercolour paintings and drawings, created over many years—each one an attempt to capture the life, atmosphere, and quiet daily dramas of Budapest, the city I’ve called home since the early 1990s. Alongside these are scenes and impressions from travels farther afield; each image, I hope, tells its own small story.

Colour, pattern, culture and nature, all put together to create bold, expressive pieces. African inspirations.
